Abutilon Blooms

My three Variegated Abutilons (Abutilon pictum 'Thompsonii') have started blooming.  There were a few apricot-colored blossoms back in the spring, but no more until this batch.

Unlike the sprawling 7+ foot tall Marilyn's Choice Abutilon (which has also been blooming), the Variegated Abutilon's height stayed under three foot.  Its yellow-speckled foliage is what first caught my attention, but having small clusters of blooms is certainly an added bonus.

  1. Where did you find the variegated abutilon? I have yet to run across one.

  2. Pam: Last spring, I discovered them at Barton Springs Nursery in the covered 4"-pot section. Didn't have the species labeled, but I believe 'Thompsonii' appears to be the one.
